The iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2 Are Now Available for Pre-Order—Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Spread the love

Calling all Apple users: The day is finally here. You can now pre-order the just-announced iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and Apple Watch Series 2. The company made its much-anticipated big announcement earlier this week and the new devices, which are expected to start shipping on Sept. 16, blend never-before-seen technology with sleek new aesthetics. Here’s what you need to know before you get out that credit card.

There’s No Headphone Jack on the iPhone

Available in silver, gold, rose gold, and two black finishes, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are going cordless in terms of sounds. The phones come with a set of Apple’s new AirPods (wireless buds that automatically sync with your phone via Bluetooth). They can sense when they are in your ears to automatically start playing audio–and automatically pause when you take them out. Plus, you can activate Siri just by double tapping either AirPod and they come with a charging case that lets you power up on the go.

Your Phone Will Double as a Stereo Speaker

Thanks to brand-new stereo speakers that offer increased dynamic range, the new models are two times louder than the iPhone 6. There’s also a higher quality speakerphone.

The New Devices Are More Water Resistant Than Ever

The high-quality screen and re-engineered enclosure on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus make it more resist than ever to water and dust damage. The Watch Series 2 takes it one step further–it can be fully submerged up to 50 meters without the risk of damage, letting you track your swims.

The Apple Watch Customization Options Are Endless

Not only does the Watch now feature a way brighter display and a built-in GPS, there are more band options than ever, allowing you match it to your personal taste. A sporty Nike+ model with exclusive faces and a more breathable band will launch in late October, and the Apple Watch Editon will be available in scratch-resistant ceramic.
